On Thursday, September 27th, a group of journalism students from Manitou Springs Middle and High Schools spent the day at CSU Fort Collins for the state's Journalism Day.
This day celebrated the First Amendment and taught students how powerful their voices are. Students and faculty heard from this year's keynote speaker, Mary Beth Tinker, and had 42 choices for breakout sessions led by professionals and top media advisors. Students attended sessions such as Uncovering Stories with Investigative Reporting, Covering News That Matters, You’ve Got the Power, and many others, covering topics from writing, video broadcast, podcasts, and yearbook production to ethics, leadership and more.

Manitou Exceptional Scholars partnered with CU-Denver's College of Arts and Media to give middle and high school students a hands-on opportunity to learn about the exceptional music, film, and digital & visual arts programs available on the Auraria Campus. Thank you CU3D and CAM for enriching our student's education by helping them see the possibilities for their future!
